Rome has a Mediterranean climate. It has mild winters and hot and dry summers. January is one of the coldest months in Rome and July and August are the warmest. In the summer months the weather can be up towards 95 degrees Fahrenheit and in the winters the weather is normally 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

Ancient Rome had a republic for a government. The roman republic was set up around 500 BC. The people in charge were two men called consuls. The men would not let women become consuls. The consuls controlled army, weather or not to start a war, what the laws were and how much taxes they collected.

From the beginning, Roman Religion was polytheistic. Polytheistic is the belief in one or more god. Christianity was widely practiced as well.
